Who We Are

My Story – Why I Built Maxime Training Company

Basketball has always been more than just a game to me — it’s been a lifeline, a passion, and now, a purpose.

I was born with sickle cell anemia, a condition that brings challenges most people never see. But growing up, I never let it define me. From the moment I picked up a basketball at a young age, I was hooked. The court became my safe space, my sanctuary, and my passion.

Throughout high school, I pushed myself hard. I made the freshman, sophomore, and JV teams, driven by the dream of one day playing at the highest level. But during my senior year, my health took a turn, and I couldn’t finish the journey I had worked so hard for. It was heartbreaking, but it wasn’t the end.

I was blessed to train and play under former NBA player and coach Alex Austin, a mentor who taught me more about the game — and life — than I could have ever learned in school gyms. I also had the opportunity to play AAU basketball under his guidance, competing at a high level and earning college scholarship offers.

But as my game elevated, so did the challenges with my health. I began experiencing serious breathing problems due to my sickle cell condition. When the time came to accept those scholarships and take that next step, I had to make the painful decision to walk away — not because I lacked talent, but because my body couldn’t keep up.

That moment changed everything for me.

I realized I might not be able to live out my dream on the court as a player — but I could help others achieve theirs. That’s when Maxime’s Training Company was born.

I created this business with one goal: to build up young athletes — physically, mentally, and emotionally — so they can reach levels I never could. I want to give them the tools, guidance, and inspiration to chase their dreams without the roadblocks I faced. Whether it’s skill development, confidence-building, or mentorship, I’m here to pour into them everything I’ve learned — from high-level coaches, tough setbacks, and a love for the game that never quit.

I know what it feels like to be overlooked, to be sidelined, and to fight against something bigger than the game. That’s why I train with purpose. I train to build strong, skilled, and resilient athletes — ready for whatever comes their way.

Because every kid deserves a shot. And if I can be the one to help them take it, then everything I went through was worth it.
